In the depths, I dwell, unseen,
A guardian in the sea serene.
Forgotten by those above who steer,
Only known when storm clouds near.
Toil and strain, my silent chore,
Holding steadfast to the ocean floor.
Amidst the waves, I find my place,
A silent sentinel, an unseen grace.
Crew above, with charts and sails,
Navigate the wind’s wild trails.
Yet seldom do they spare a thought,
For the anchor’s strength, battles fought.
Until the day my chain does break,
And all at once, their dreams forsake.
Drifting aimless, lost at sea,
They remember then, the strength of me.
In calm and storm, I bear the weight,
Of keeping course, of guiding fate.
A hidden hero, oft ignored,
Until my hold can be restored.
So here I lie, beneath the deep,
In shadows where the sea things creep.
Anchored in my duty’s call,
The unseen backbone, holding all.
